Paul Pogba’s Man United Deal Almost Done Despite Late Real Madrid Interest

For more than a week now, Paul Pogba’s expected transfer move to the Old Trafford has yielded no fruit, and whilst there are claims of Manchester Untied reaching an advance stage with the deal, it seems that nothing has been happening over the past few days.

The Frenchman is currently on vacation, which could be why the deal has not be finalised until now. Pogba’s extended holiday, because of France lasting until the final day of the recently concluded European Championships, can only frustrate those wanting a move. The decision is currently in the hands of Pogba himself and, right now, it seems the midfielder just wants to remain on leave and is reluctant to discuss a transfer.

According to the Spanish newspaper AS (as covered by Daily Mail), reigning European club champions Real Madrid have asked to be given more time to prepare a bid for the Juventus midfielder. The publication revealed that the Spanish club are still keen on signing Pogba, but they would need to sell a big-name player first to raise funds for the Pogba acquisition.

This comes as a twist to claims made earlier that Real Madrid would not be willing to pay the astronomical figures being quoted by Juventus, rather than not being able to pay the huge amount being demanded for the player.

It seems that time is running out for Madrid to sign the player whose dream is to play at the Bernabeu, as AS report that the Red Devils are ‘on the verge’ of sealing a deal for Pogba, and transfer talks are nearly at a conclusion.
