When on June 3rd the news broke that Arsenal had triggered the release clause of Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy, everyone thought Wenger had finally been able to get a striker who would be able to help solve all of Arsenal’s striker problems.
Unfortunately on June 23rd, Leicester City announced that both the club and the agents of Jamie Vardy have reached an agreement that will see the England striker sign a new four-year deal with the Foxes. But until now, he is yet to put pen to paper, despite the fact that the European Championships are over.
Could Vardy still be on his way out of Leicester City? I personally won’t rule it out. Too much has happened since June 23 which could make Jamie Vardy have a change of heart.
A journalist (I think Rob Tanner of Leicester Mercury, but can’t remember who) last week tweeted that there are still two clubs keenly interested in signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester City. Maybe Arsenal are one of the clubs.
A worried Leicester City fan yesterday tweeted journalist Rob Tanner of the Leicester Mercury, asking if Jamie Vardy had signed his contract with Leicester, to which Rob Tanner replied in the negative.
I don't he has because he has been on hols and having his op.

So what’s the hold up? One can say the hold up is as a result of the player being on holiday, but with Kante gone to Chelsea and Mahrez looking like he is on his way out, could the departures lead Vardy to having a change of mind?
I personally believe the fact that he hasn’t signed the deal shows that there is still a chance for Arsenal to get him. If Wenger wants him so much, he should make another offer to the player. Maybe, just maybe, Vardy could change his mind and choose to leave.
The worst that can happen is Arsenal get rejected again. However, you will never know if he will reject or accept the new offer if one is not made. And with Arsenal still unable to bring in a striker, Arsenal have little or nothing to lose if they make a new offer to Vardy.
