Liverpool’s Next Summer Signing Could Be This “Exciting” Euro 2016 Star

According to reports, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is eyeing Udinese full back Silvan Widmer as the German plans to bolster the Liverpool back line ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Reds have joined Serie A club Napoli in the race to secure the signature of the young right-back, according to a report by football insider.

Football insider reckons Jurgen Klopp is keenly interested on tempting the 23-year-old to Anfield and is willing to pay the £6.6million valuation.

Swiss international Widmer, moved to the Serie A in 2013, he reportedly has four years left on his contract with Serie A club Udinese. Which means Udinese are in a position of strength which other means Liverpool may be forced to pay good money for the player if they so want to sign him or look elsewhere.

Aside Liverpool, Inter Milan are also said to be interested in the player. The Milan based club were said to have tried to sign the player last January but failed in their attempt to sign him.

The Swiss has featured in 79 games for his Italian club, including 27 matches last season when Udinese narrowly avoided the drop. He is highly rated in the Italian Serie A which is testament to his wonderful talents especially as the Serie A is known to be a defensive league.

Should the Swiss star make the switch to Liverpool, he will be expected to compete with England international Nathaniel Clyne for a player in Liverpool’s first eleven.

His versatility could however be useful to the Jurgen Klopp led team when there are injuries to other players. He can play everywhere across the defense which is a big plus.
