With reports claiming Asmir Begovic could be leaving Chelsea before the transfer window closes, Chelsea surely need to bring in someone else as back up to first-choice Thibaut Courtois. And according to reports, the Blues are targeting AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez to replace the outgoing Bosnian.
According to these reports, Chelsea will meet with the agent of Diego Lopez next week and hope they will be able to reach an agreement that will see him play in Chelsea colours next season.
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper would probably be interested in the move as he is at risk of becoming second-choice behind Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is manager Vincenzo Montella’s preferred choice. Aside this, Brazilian keeper Gabriel, who spent last season on loan, is set to return to the club and surely Milan do not need three very good keepers. That means there is a real chance that they will be open to the idea of selling Diego Lopez to Chelsea.
Diego Lopez is an experienced goalkeeper, who won the Champions League and the La Liga BBVA with Real Madrid, and if Chelsea sign him, they will be getting themselves a very good goalkeeper.
