Man City On The Verge Of Signing €20m-Rated Star As Official Bid Is Made

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is looking to further reconstruct his defence by bringing in more than one defender to the club. Everton and England international defender John Stones has been the only defender that has been heavily linked with a big money move to City in recent times but, if new reports are to be believed, it seems Pep has a surprise for City fans coming in from Serie A.

Manchester City have reportedly made a €20m offer for defender Bruno Peres from Italian side Torino, as the former Barcelona head coach looks to bring in another defender to refresh their full-back options, as reported by Italian outlet TuttoSport, via Sport Witness.

It looks like quality full-backs have become a scarce commodity across the world of football this days, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in dire need of a quality player in that position.

According to reports, intermediaries are currently working round the clock to seal a deal for Bruno Peres, who Guardiola believes has all the attributes he needs in a full-back.

French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco are widely believed to be interested in the Brazilian full-back, although the Etihad giants have the financial strength to out-muscle the Ligue 1 club for the signature of the 26-year-old defender.

With Zabaleta and Sagna ageing and likely to have lost a yard of pace from last season, it is not a surprise that City are in for another full-back. And with Bruno Peres able to play on the right wing as well, his signing could end up being a masterstroke. His versatility could be useful when there are injuries, which is inevitable over the course of a football season.
