Higuain To Become A Gunner – How Arsenal Will Line Up With Him Next Season

Arsenal have recently been strongly linked with a move to secure the signature of Argentine and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain. And it is not a surprise, as Arsenal could do with signing a truly world class player, one that is able to dethrone Olivier Giroud from the first team.

Days ago, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli confirmed that the player’s agent has agreed a five-year deal of about £37.5 million for the former Real Madrid striker with Arsenal ahead of a move to the Emirates this summer.

Juventus have also recently been linked with the signing of the South American but, according to ESPN, the son of Napoli’s owner has described the rumour as baseless.

The Argentina international striker found the back of the net 36 times in 35 League matches for his Serie A club last season. Only Barcelona’s Luis Suarez (40) and PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic (38) recorded more league goals than the former Real Madrid star. This is testament to how good he is and makes one wonder why Wenger rejected him few years ago.

The prolific Napoli striker will literally walk into the current Arsenal team, if he eventually joins the north London club. With Arsene Wenger’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, the striker is expected to displace Frenchman Olivier Giroud and spearhead a new look Arsenal side which should look like this:

Petr Cech; Monreal, Koscielny, Gabriel, Bellerin; Xhaka, Cazorla; Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey; Higuain.
