After the disappointment of not being able to bag Jamie Vardy from Leicester City and being beaten by Chelsea in the race of signing N’Golo Kante, there is some good news for Arsenal fans.
Despite the reports that Juventus are ready to offer a lot of money for Gonzalo Higuain, it looks like Napoli do not want to strengthen their rivals and they would rather sell Higuain to a club from a different country.
Ciro Venerato, from Radio Crc (via CSAR), claims that Napoli would like to sell the striker abroad, but the main problem is the huge price-tag on the player’s head. The negotiations with Juventus, apparently, are not going on well, and the Old Lady would only get the striker if they pay the whole release clause, which is €94 million.
No matter where he goes, it looks like the future of Gonzalo Higuain is far away from ‘Sao Paolo’, with the player becoming tired of contributing a lot of goals yet winning nothing at the end of the season.
Reports from Italy suggest that Higuain has reached a personal agreement with the Juventus, who have offered €8 million per year as a salary for the Argentinian striker, but Napoli insist that the player is to be sold abroad. They are even ready to sell him for less than €94 million, so they do not have to sell him to the Old Lady.
If Arsenal get the player, it would be a huge signing. Having Higuain in front of Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla would be a great boost for the team from north London, given that the inconsistent Giroud is not always in his ‘best mood’ to score goals.
