According to reports, Leicester City and France international midfielder N’Golo Kante has completed his medical at West London club Chelsea ahead of his big money move to Stamford Bridge.
Reporter Jim White tweeted: “Can confirm Kante medical completed in West London. Paperwork for £30m move to Chelsea to be done at Cobham tonight.”
The Leicester City man is ready to switch from the champions to Chelsea in a deal that could turn out to be one of the best deals for the 2016 summer transfer window.
According to the Guardian this morning, Kante is fully prepared to complete a £29.2m transfer, which includes add-ons, to Stamford Bridge.
The same publication claimed the 25-year-old has informed Leicester City he wants to depart the King Power Stadium and that new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made contact with him, welcoming him to the west London club.
The Premier League champions signed Kante from French side Caen just last summer for a fee of just £5.5m and the Foxes are now ready to make big profit on the 2016 European Championship ace.
It remains to be seen how Conte intends to play both Matic and Kante in the same team. However, I believe it is possible that Fabregas will move up the pitch to play behind the striker: the position in which he had his best season when he was at Arsenal. That would allow Chelsea to then play both Kante and Matic, with the latter as a pivot.
