It’s the dawn of a new era at Chelsea, as new boss Antonio Conte begins his rebuilding process that could see several new players come in, and the exodus of some current Chelsea stars. Over the next couple of weeks, Chelsea fans will be hoping the Italian manager signs the needed players that will take the team back to where it rightfully belong.
Having signed Belgian star Michy Batshuayi from French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille, it seem the Italian has his eyes on Gabriel Barbosa of Brazilian club Santos, who was recently thought to be on his way to Arsenal.
As reported by Sport Witness, Chelsea have submitted a €30m bid for the signing of Gabriel Barbosa. The Blues are, however, reportedly not ready to engage in a bidding war over Barbosa, 19, with Serie A club Juventus also believed to be interested in the youngster.
If Chelsea end up signing Gabrigol, it could well mean Arsenal will be free to complete the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid as Chelsea were the only other club said to be competing with the Gunners for the signature of the Spaniard.
Although Madrid are reportedly reluctant to sell Morata, all that could change should Madrid be able to land one of their own targets. And with only Arsenal pursuing the player (that is if Chelsea are able to sign Gabrigol), Los Blancos could be forced to lower their asking price for the player.
Gabrigol to Chelsea and Morata to Arsenal will be great news for the Premier League. Both players are young and have bright futures ahead of them.
