Medical Booked – Tottenham Target Set To Complete Move

Spanish La Liga club Sevilla look to have captured the signature of the Palermo striker Franco Vazque, despite being trailed by Premier league club Tottenham all summer.

According to a claim on the website of Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italian ( as reported by football insider ), the striker was to depart the Italian side’s pre-season training camp yesterday and head to Sevilla for medical.

Vazque performed brilliantly well last season, finding the back of the net eight times and providing six assists in 36 matches for his Serie A team. Hence it is not a surprise several clubs including Tottenham are said to be interested in signing him.

He created the most assists in the Serie A last season which is really good especially if one considers the fact that the Serie A is a tough and very defensive minded league.

His impressive showing in the Italian Serie A last season was rewarded with an international call up to the Italian national team by the then Italy coach Antonio Conte, who is now the manager of Premier league side Chelsea.

Last week, the Parlemo and Italy international forward spoke about his possible move to la Liga club Sevilla this summer transfer window.

He eas quoted telling El Crack Deportivo: “I know they [Palermo and Sevilla] have been talking and in the coming days my future will be resolved.

“Sevilla are a very important club, who have won the Europa League and play Champions League football, so it would be nice to go there – but they are rumours and until something is signed I can not say anything.”

Losing him to Sevilla is a big blow to Tottenham but Mauricio Pochettino and his management staff team will know they still have a lot of time to go after other players. One thing is however certain, Tottenham must do the right business in the transfer window this summer or risk losing out on the top four party.

With Manchester United doing very good transfer business so far and Chelsea looking like they will be bringing in a couple of players, there is a real chance that if Spurs, well and Arsenal, do not do the right business before the window closes then one of either United or Chelsea will take their place.
