According to IBTimes UK, the Liverpool youngster has decided to join Norwich City on a 4 year deal, and has the option to extend the deal by a year. Sergi Canos reportedly turned down the chance of joining Bristol City, but decided to link up with Norwich instead. The new deal is expected to be formalized in a matter of hours.
Canos, 19, joined Liverpool in 2013 from the Prestigious Barcelona academy, joining other La Masia graduates like Fabregas and Bellerin, who moved to the English premier League to start their career.
The promising youngster came through the ranks at Liverpool, before joining Brentford on loan last season to further his growth as a footballer. While at Griffin Park, the Liverpool starlet found the back of the net 7 times and assisted 5 times in 38 games. His sublime forms at Brentford made the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp give him his Liverpool debut against West Brom on match day 38.
Failure to agree on a new contract for the Spaniard had made Liverpool to place him on the transfer list so as not to lose the young prospect on Bosman rule. The wonder kid’s contract is set to expire next summer.
According to IBTimes UK, both Bristol City and Norwich City were ready to match Liverpool’s £2.5m plus add-ons transfer fee demands but it appears the offer from Norwich City. From all indication, Norwich have bought the former Barca youngster as a replacement for Nathan Redmond who was sold to Southampton.
