Liverpool Ready £25m Bid For Major Arsenal Target

With reports claiming Kieran Gibbs could be on his way out of Arsenal this summer, it is not a surprise that Arsenal are been linked with the signing of left backs. First was wolfsburg’s Ricard Rodriguez and now Jonas Hector of FC Cologne is also been linked with a move to the Emirates.

Unfortunately Arsenal could be set to lose out to Premier League rivals Liverpool on the opportunity to sign the Germany international. The Reds are reportedly set to table a £25million bid to complete the signing of highly rated left-back.

Liverpool are said to be looking to sign an improved version of current left back Alberto Moreno, and according to reports, Jurgen Klopp feels Arsenal target Jonas Hector is the ideal player to solve the left back problem at Liverpool.

Hector, 26, shone like million stars last season in the German Bundesliga. His wonderful performance in the Bundesliga last season earned him a place in the Germany squad as the preferred left-back for the world champions at the recently concluded European championship in France where Germany got to the semi finals of the Tournament before losing to France.

According to Metro who are citing German tabloid Bild, Tottenham are also interested in the player. And there is also interest in the player outside England. It is reported that current La Liga champions Barcelona had earlier tested FC Cologne’s resolve with a £15m bid for the full back which was rejected. This means Liverpool or Arsenal will have to pay a huge some for his signature if they truly want to sign him.

Jurgen Klopp’s influence might be needed at this point to secure the signing of signature, as being German and having worked in the Bundesliga for years, he is well connected and could use his connection in the German league to win the race for the player. He has already used his Bundesliga influence to sign the likes of Joel Matip and Loris Karius from the German League during his short spell at Liverpool.

The lure of Champions League football could however give Arsenal the edge in the race for the signature of the German, if Wenger is truly interested in signing him that’s.

Whether the Frenchman will be willing to outbid Liverpool is however left to be seen.
