Man United On Verge Of £25.6m Signing, Star Arrives England For Talks

According to a report by British media outlet the Express, Manchester United are actively pursuing the possibility of signing Blaise Matuidi as PSG might be willing to let him go for a £25.6 million transfer fee (including bonuses).

According to the Express,  French league one Champions PSG have given Matuidi permission to fly to England to discuss a potential deal with Manchester United and other would be suitors. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are also said to be interested in the highly rated France international midfielder but United are the forerunners for his signature.

Blaise Matuidi has been a key figure in PSG’s teams since joining them in 2011 and he has helped them win 4 consecutive league titles in France. He has also been a key player for the French National team who will today be facing Portugal in the Euro 2016 finals. He has played in every match the manager Didier Deschamps managed side have played in the European Championship so far.

Reports claim that after the arrival of Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla, PSG’s new coach Unai Emery might be contemplating a change of formations which might not be good news for Matuidi. Hence the player is being asked to seek for a new club.

However, as Manchester United have also been heavily linked to Paul Pogba this week, it is not clear as to whether Jose Mourinho sees Matuidi as a fall back option should the bid to sign Paul Pogba fails or wants both players. Mourinho’s club have already been very active signing Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan as well as Eric Bailly.
