Aaron Ramsey flattered by Barcelona interest

Will Aaron Ramsey be making a move from Arsenal to Barcelona? There have been rumors of the Spanish team making offers for the Welsh midfielder. The Independent have mentioned a possible £50m for the move.

The current transfer window has seen a number of surprises. One such surprise was Bastian Schweinsteiger’s move from Bayern Munich to Manchester United. Ramsey denies the transfer claims, although Bleacher Report states that he is ‘flattered’ by the rumors.

“Obviously it’s very flattering. They did the treble last year and it’s just really nice to be linked with one of the best clubs in the world. One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that. But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things.”

Indeed, Arsenal has shown its competitive edge in the past few years. Arsenal has won two consecutive FA cups (2014 and 2015). The team has also qualified for the UEFA Champion’s League for the 18th consecutive year.

The challenge will be winning the competition. The closest Arsenal has been to the Champion’s League trophy was second place back in 2006. The team has also failed to win the Premier League title in over 10 years.

Regardless, Ramsey seems to be confident that Arsenal can achieve success. It will only be a matter of proving it as the new season approaches.
