It seems that Memphis Depay has set big goals for his career in the Premier League.
When speaking with Sky Sports News, Depay has said that he wants to become a legend for Manchester United:
“I’m honest – of course I want to be a legend. I will put pressure on myself to play good every game.”
Depay, who joined Manchester United in early May, was the Eredivisie leading goal scorer for the 2014-2015 season.
His 22 goals were four shy of Sergio Aguero’s 26 goals in the 2014-2015 season and while the Eredivisie is an inferior league, those are still impressive numbers.
This fact does nothing to change the Dutchman’s determination, as seen in his performance on Tuesday.
The striker supplied the second goal in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory against the San Jose Earthquakes in what was just his second match with the club.
Should he continue at this pace during the regular season, Memphis could very well compete for Golden Boot in the 2015-2016 season.
