The 24-year-old has been with Aston Villa for the past three seasons, scoring over 40 goals in 88 appearances for the club.
Prior to Liverpool making this move, it was believed that Manchester United were ready to sign Benteke.
However, after selling Raheem Sterling for £49 million, the Reds felt confident in reinvesting a large portion in Benteke for the upcoming season.
The Belgian striker will be the seventh new addition for Liverpool this summer, joining James Milner, Danny Ings, Nathaniel Clyne, Joe Gomez, Adam Bogdan and Roberto Firmino, all of which has cost the club around £80 million this transfer window.
With Daniel Sturridge out until September and Mario Balotelli out of favour, Benteke should see lots of early season action for his new side.
