Yohan Cabaye set for Crystal Palace move

Yohan Cabaye of Paris Saint-Germain will undergo a medical and soon return to the Premier League, this time with Crystal Palace.

A move that had been rumoured for a couple of weeks is set to be finalized in the next few days as the former Newcastle man and French international found playing time hard to come by in PSG’s crowded midfield this past season.

Aged 29, the experience and quality of Cabaye should have a positive impact on an already up-and-coming side.

Cabaye is also no stranger to Alan Pardew, who signed the Frenchman at Newcastle in 2011.

Pardew is clearly a fan of Cabaye, as he worked hard to pursue and sign him after seeing that Cabaye could be better utilized at Selhurst Park as opposed to the Parc des Princes.

This signing could break Palace records, as the previous record signing was £7 million for James McArthur. Should this deal be completed, Crystal Palace would pay PSG a fee around £10 million.

Since their promotion after the 2012-13 season, Crystal Palace has flown up the Premier League table, finishing 11th in 2013-14 and 10th this past season. Additions like Cabaye should only help Pardew’s side climb even higher up the table.
