Manchester City have announced the signing of striker Enes Unal from Super Lig side Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £2 million.
Unal smashed records at every level in Turkey for club and country. He scored 25 goals in 24 games for Turkey’s Under-16s and managed to score an astounding 181 goals in 108 games at the youth level in the Coca-Cola Academy League.
The Turkish international has scored four goals in 37 appearances as a substitute for Bursaspor since 2013. He became the youngest player ever to score in the Super Lig as a 16-year-old by equalising against Galatasaray a few weeks after making his debut.
The 18-year-old is Manuel Pellegrini’s first signing of the summer and is expected to join City’s youth academy before eventually getting a chance to play for their senior squad.
However, he may get a chance to play first-team football during City’s pre-season tour of Australia where the Citizens will go up against Roma and Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup.
