Abdul Rahman Baba’s agent ‘in talks’ with Arsenal

Rising star Abdul Rahman Baba has attracted attention from a number of Premier League clubs following an impressive Bundesliga season, and Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign the fullback.

Baba’s agent, Sascha Empacher is believed to have traveled to London to hold negotiations with several clubs, including the Gunners.

Chelsea have already made a £10 million bid for the 20-year-old, but he was understood to have doubts concerning playing time and his role in Jose Mourinho’s squad, as Cesar Azpilicueta has established himself as the side’s first-choice left-back.

Manchester City, Real Madrid, Roma, and Juventus are also linked with the defender. However, no other offers have been reported.

Arsenal have options for a strong left-back in Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Montreal, however Baba is still young and has displayed considerable talent at Augsburg.

Having only signed for Augsburg in August, Baba made the first team and provided five assists in 31 appearances.

The German side is hoping to get £15 million for the Ghana international. So far, no offer from the Emirates has been reported.
