According to reports, Liverpool FC have been holding talks with James Milner, and appear to be closing in on a free transfer with the Manchester City midfielder.
Milner, 29, has spent his career playing for Leeds United, Swindon Town, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City, where he has made 147 appearances over his five year span with the Citizens.
He has also had 53 caps for the national team, scoring one goal in the process.
However, the former Aston Villa man has yet to truly be a consistent first teamer for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and had been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal the last few months.
As a two time Premier League winner and an FA Cup winner, Milner would bring vital experience to Liverpool, especially with the departure of club legend Steven Gerrard to the LA Galaxy.
