Sadio Mane scored the Premier League’s quickest hat-trick in Southampton’s 6-1 rout of Aston Villa.
The Senegalese forward netted three times in two minutes and 56 seconds, breaking Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler’s previous record of four minutes and 33 seconds when he scored a hat-trick against Arsenal. Fans watching live football scores would have been shocked how quickly the data was getting updated.
Mane also set the record for the quickest instance of a hat-trick as he scored the decisive third goal in the 16th minute, breaking Dwight Yorke’s record of 22 minutes which was also coincidentally against Arsenal.
