Manchester United have completed the signing of PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay for a reported fee of £25-30 million.
The 21-year-old won the Eredivisie with the Rood-witten this season and is now planning on achieving his dreams by playing under Louis van Gaal.
“I was dreaming and believing of becoming the champions of the Eredivisie with PSV and we achieved it. I’m extremely grateful towards PSV, all the fans. Now it’s time to set my goals again on winning trophies with Manchester United,” Depay posted on his official Facebook page.
Liverpool were said to have been after the Dutch international as well but in the end, it seems the influence of Van Gaal was too great.
Depay will join the Red Devils in the summer with his initial contract reported to be until 2019.
His signing marks Van Gaal’s first foray into the transfer market ahead of the new season before the current season’s even ended.
