No January signings for Stoke City says Mark Hughes

Stoke manager, Mark Hughes has insisted that his club will not be making any additions in the upcoming January transfer window.

“We won’t be spending any significant amounts of money I would suggest,” Hughes said. “We may look at loans, we may look at opportunities to bring younger players if they are available but any significant business in terms of financial outlay I don’t think we will be doing that.”

One of those young players reportedly seem to be Barcelona’s 22-year-old midfielder, Sergi Roberto who might end up joining two notable La Masia graduates in Marc Muniesa and Bojan Krkic. However, any deal will likely be a loan.

“We only have a certain amount of money we can spend in any given season and it may be that we keep what we have and invest in the summer which would probably make more sense.”
